PRAY WITH US

At The Cooper House, the greatest gift one could give and share is that of prayer. We stand firm and are committed to the truth that prayer is essential in our work and our relationship with Jesus Christ. Philippians 4:6 says, “in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” In all we do, we seek the Lord and His leadership through prayer. He is what keeps us anchored in all circumstances. We would love for you to join us in prayer over these things:

  1. We pray for the families who are hurting and in crisis. There are many families in our community (but also around the world), who don’t know how or who or where to go for support and encouragement in their time of crisis, whatever the crisis may be. We pray for God's provision over their lives. These families may not know how unconditionally loved they are by our Heavenly Father. We pray for God to reveal Himself to these families and to provide the right next person that will support, encourage, and love them. We pray for God to protect His children.

  2. We pray for the families that are specifically involved with The Department of Child Services. These families have often hit rock bottom and may even be separated from one another within the foster care system— parents, children, and siblings. They are often dealing with generations of unresolved trauma that continues to cycle through the family with unhealthy behaviors and relationships. We pray for God to break generational curses in these families and lead them to a healthy, whole, and restorative family unit. We pray for God to protect His children and bring them Hope for the journey that lies ahead.

  3. We pray that God would grant wisdom in our work to serve children & families well. No matter how difficult or challenging the circumstances may be, we ask that God would grant courage, clarity, and fruitfulness in our work to serve families in crisis. We find hope in these words from “For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints” (Proverbs 2:6-8).

  4. We pray for renewed strength and wisdom for the social workers and staff at DCS. Oftentimes, social workers are very overwhelmed and overworked. We pray God would ignite their flame of passion when they start to feel weary and burned out. They have to make difficult decisions each day for the families they work with. We pray God blesses them with courage and wisdom to make those decisions that are in the best interest of all parties involved.

  5. We pray for faith. In our work at The Cooper House, we can be easily worn down, burdened, and discouraged. Faith is what continues to move us forward in spite of the unknowns and weight of life. We are told to “..walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 Faith is a gift from God. We pray God continues to bless us with a big, radical Faith.

  6. We pray for God to sustain our work. All that we are and all that we have are God’s and solely dependent on Him. The apostle Paul tells us in Romans 11:36, “For from Him and through Him and to Him are ALL things. To Him be the Glory forever. Amen” We pray for God to continue sustaining our work and His will be done.

  7. We pray for God to empower us to steward the gifts, talents, and expertise entrusted to us. At The Cooper House, we are committed to seeing God’s Kingdom reflected through the work and mission set forth by our founders, Brooke and Kyle Howe. All leadership, board directors, staff, and volunteers bring their own unique God-given talents and gifts to further our mission and serve more families. While we strive for excellence and integrity in all we do, ultimately, we are ambassadors for Jesus and it is God who is working in and through us to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

  8. We pray God would be glorified in all. Corinthians 10:31 says, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” This thought is what, ultimately, informs our daily work at The Cooper House—whether in executive leadership, programs, development, finance, operations, or communications, may God continue to guide us and shape us until the day he makes all things new.

HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR YOU?
